Most of the population in England (93%) now have access to non-emergency urgent healthcare line NHS 111.

The latest report released by NHS England shows that 94% of calls were answered within 60 seconds and only 0.5% of calls were abandoned after waiting more than 30 seconds.

The report states: “Users of NHS 111 services continue to show high levels of satisfaction with 111, 92% of callers are satisfied with the service.”

There were 548,318 calls to the service in August. On average just 30% of call time was handled by clinical staff.

However, only nine sites were able to submit this data due to some providers classing it as “commercially sensitive”.

The full figures are available on the NHS England website.
