Time is running out to apply for the Guy Rotherham Award that celebrates quality improvement in primary care and better outcomes for patients.

The Improvement Foundation and the NHS Alliance have teamed up to present this award for innovative practice in primary care.

Judges will be looking for inspirational entrants who can demonstrate at least one of the nine high impact changes, as published by the Improvement Foundation last year.

The winning team will receive an educational grant of £3,000 and will be invited to attend a presentation ceremony at the House of Lords in January next year.

Ruth Kennedy, Chief Executive of the Improvement Foundation, said: “The Guy Rotherham Award mirrors our vision for high quality healthcare and is a great opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional improvements that organisations and individuals are making across primary care.

“We are looking forward to hearing more about the fantastic work ongoing across the counry and welcome applications from primary care trusts, general practices, community nursing teams, primary care consortia, or any other community-based NHS team.”

Applications for the 2007 Guy Rotherham Award must be sent to the NHS Alliance by 5pm on Friday 5 October.
