A new £1m medical surgery in Warwickshire, which includes its own pharmacy, was officially opened by local MP James Plaskitt on 20 June.

The New Dispensary GP surgery (pictured), located in Chase Meadow Square, Warwick, was provided by Medcentres Plc in partnership with Warwickshire PCT and Drs Clarkson and Hatton, and is expected to serve approximately 6,000 patients.

Mr Plaskitt was joined by pharmacy and surgery staff, customers and patients, local dignitaries and Warwickshire PCT representatives as he cut the ribbon to mark the official opening.

The New Dispensary has been designed to meet the needs of the local community. Located adjacent to the surgery, the Day Lewis Pharmacy is intended to provide the local community with greater convenience by allowing them to pick up prescriptions directly after seeing their doctor.

Christine Rogers, Practice Manager of The New Dispensary Surgery, said: “We look forward to the Day Lewis Pharmacy becoming a fully integrated part of our primary healthcare facility.

“The location of the new pharmacy alongside our practice ensures that we can develop excellent relationships with the team and that we collectively work together with the aim of improving the patient experience.”
