Management in Practice has released its summer line-up of free events to support practice leaders in the changing primary care landscape.

The NHS’s transition toward the neighbourhood health model will make 2026 a defining year for general practice, with practice managers at the centre of the shift.

Practice managers will have to navigate evolving service expectations alongside ongoing workforce pressures, financial constraints and increasing regulatory complexity.

This summer, Management in Practice returns with three face-to-face events designed to support practice leaders as they respond to these challenges:

Management in Practice Bristol – Tuesday 19 May 2026

Management in Practice Manchester – Tuesday 2 June 2026

Management in Practice Birmingham – Tuesday 9 June 2026

The events in Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham will follow the same core programme, focusing on the operational, workforce and financial priorities of practice leaders in 2026.

In addition, each event has variations to reflect the specific challenges and priorities of the region.

The core at all three will focus on the practical realities of managing and leading general practice as the neighbourhood health model continues to develop.

Sessions will explore workforce pressures, financial sustainability, governance requirements and the operational impact of policy change, with a strong emphasis on approaches that can be applied in practice.

Across the programme, delegates can expect discussion and insight around:

  • People, recruitment and retention
  • HR essentials and workplace wellbeing
  • Practice finance, funding flows and budgeting
  • Governance and compliance
  • Workforce planning and role integration
  • Digital tools, workflow optimisation and innovation.

Alongside expert-led sessions, the events will provide space for discussion and peer learning, enabling practice managers to share experiences and reflect on common challenges with colleagues from their region.

In addition to formal sessions, each event will provide time for discussion and informal networking, enabling delegates to connect with colleagues facing similar challenges in primary care.

Further details on agendas and speakers will be announced in due course.

Registration is now open for all three events, so be sure to be amongst the first to secure your free spot at a Management in Practice event near you.
