NHS staff will next week be able to watch some of the world’s leading health experts live online at a unique international clinical summit in London.

The summit, hosted by Health Minister Lord Ara Darzi, will bring together leading figures from a wide range of clinical specialities and backgrounds from the UK, US, Canada and Europe.

Discussions will focus on sharing their experience and learning with NHS staff and stakeholders who are involved in shaping the future of the NHS through the Our NHS, Our Future review.

A core part of the programme will focus on bringing together the clinical pathway working groups who are leading this review in each strategic health authority region, with the aim of stimulating discussion on how to deliver the best outcomes for patients across England.

Keynote speeches from the event will be broadcast live from 2.20–7pm on Wednesday 21 November, and available for viewing afterwards at: http://www.livegroup.co.uk/internationalclinicalsummit

Speakers include David Levine, President and Executive Director of the Montreal Health and Social Service Agency: and Dr Jack Cochran, Executive Director of the Permanente Federation (Kaiser Permanente), who will talk about redesigning healthcare systems and creating additional services outside hospitals.

Lord Ara Darzi will address the summit on Wednesday 21 November. Chief Medical Officer Liam Donaldson will close the session on day one and Secretary of State for Health Alan Johnson will close the summit on day two.
