From this month the 6Cs values from nursing will be rolled out across the health service workforce.

The 6Cs – care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment – were launched 18 months ago as part of the chief nursing officer’s Compassion in Practice strategy.

Healthcare leaders want the set of core nursing values to be extended to all NHS staff in England.

NHS England said the event was: “Designed to inspire and encourage thought and discussion around improving the quality of care delivered and experienced.”

Senior nurses helped to promote the nursing values at a special event in Westminster earlier this month.
