Management in Practice has been working with a wellbeing coach to bring you a series of bulletins offering advice and activities to support your wellbeing during the month of February.
With workload in general practice at a peak during the pandemic, many practice managers have been telling us they are feeling the pressure like never before. This short series aims to help you to take a few minutes away from your desk, and give you the chance to take a step back to look at a few helpful strategies and ideas.
Sheela Hobden, of Bluegreen Coaching, is a professional coach, who regularly works with general practice and practice managers. She has devised a short programme specifically for Management in Practice, launching today (1 February).
The activities – running over four weeks – are based on supporting your wellbeing in work and at home, with brief exercises that will take just a few minutes of your time.
The theme MOT4U is based around the concept of keeping a vehicle running well and efficiently – with the wellbeing bulletins offering some advice and some short activities to help you to recharge your own batteries and to help keep you moving in the right direction.
Ms Hobden said: ‘The MOT on a car is a test that the vehicle is ‘road-worthy’. Yet, do we ever have a check, to see that we ourselves are OK? The MO4U activities running this month are a way we can give ourselves the ‘once over’, and care for ourselves, as much as our cars!’
With practices so busy during the pandemic and vaccination effort, the programme has been timed to give Management in Practice readers the support when it’s needed.

Each bulletin will include a welcome video from Bluegreen Coaching, advice on improving wellbeing and managing stress, exercises to take part in if you would like to, and the opportunity to feedback on the topic.
