Practice managers, receptionists, GPs and practice teams have just over a week to nominate themselves or colleagues for the General Practice Awards 2026.
Now in its 18th year, the awards, organised by Management in Practice’s publisher Cogora, recognise the people, teams and organisations doing important work across primary care.
The deadline for entries is 31 May. Those wishing to enter can find more information and submit their nominations at the General Practice Awards website.
Entering is a chance to give work in practices more visibility and recognise the people behind it. It is also a way to share examples of good practice with the wider primary care community.
The awards cover a range of work across general practice, including patient care, clinical improvement, teamwork, leadership and innovation.
So you may want to nominate a colleague who has gone above and beyond, a team that has improved patient care, or a project that has made a clear difference to patients, staff or services.
Last year Caitlin Clarke scooped the highly coveted Practice Manager of the Year Award – the second time she has been presented with the prize.
As Business Manager at the Castle Partnership, Norwich as well as managing partner at Fleggburgh Surgery, Great Yarmouth, her leadership helped the Castle Partnership significantly improve patient access and boost staff morale and retention. Ms Clarke also spearheaded the development of a dedicated home visiting team that provides care for housebound and vulnerable patients across the PCN’s five practices.
Strong entries should be able to demonstrate the impact of the work. This could include details about benefits for patients, service users or staff, new ways of working, data, shared learning, future plans or testimonials from patients, colleagues or partners.
Entrants can submit across multiple categories. This means GPs, nurses, practice managers, pharmacists, PCN teams, reception teams and other primary care staff can put forward different people, teams, projects or areas of work.
There is still time to prepare an entry before the deadline. The Entry Submission Guide sets out what entrants will be asked in the online form, including the shortlist name, overview and full story sections, plus character limits and tips on what to include.
Entries close on Sunday 31 May 2026.
