‘Dynamic’ approach to business is best

Companies should have a more ‘dynamic’ approach to workplace innovation, a new report suggests. 

Published by professional services firm KPMG, the study shows that encouraging employees to be creative is more important than research and development (R&D). 

Businesses are more likely to benefit if innovation is seen as a core achievement in the workplace. 

Far too many managers are failing to take good ideas on board, according to KPMG’s Global HR Transformation Center of Excellence co-leader Robert Bolton. 

He said: “Organisations that are most likely to prevail are those where entrepreneurialism and risk taking are recognized and celebrated by leaders and where honest failure is viewed as a learning experience”. 

He suggested that the core principle of being open to workplace innovation should form part of management training.
