Another 54 GP practices have been rated on their quality of care and had their reports published, of which 44 were rated good, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has announced.
Of the remaining 10, six have been rated inadequate, two have been rated requires improvement, and two were focused inspections which are smaller and either focus on a specific concern, or occur due to a change in circumstance (eg after a merger).
Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of general practice, said:“After more than 2,000 inspections we now have the evidence that the vast majority of England’s GP practices are providing a service which is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led…
“But, unfortunately, there are still areas of practice that are inadequate and unacceptable. Patients have a right to expect high quality care from every GP practice,” he added.
