Zostavax, the shingles vaccine, is now available to order from the ImmForm website after more than a month.

However, orders are still limited to 20 doses, Public Health England (PHE) has said.

Since September supplies of the vaccine have been intermittently running out. PHE has had to revise dates of when the vaccines would be available for the national programme to vaccinate people aged 70 and 79 more than once.

PHE blamed the delays on “testing taking longer than anticipated”.

A spokesman for the manufacturer told Pulse: “Sanofi Pasteur MSD is pleased to confirm that deliveries of Zostavax shingles vaccine have been made recently, so that shingles vaccination can recommence in GP surgeries.

“Production of shingles vaccine is on-going and doses committed for year one of the National Shingles Immunisation Programme will be delivered.”
