Practice manager of the year shortlist announced

The shortlist for Practice Manger of the Year has been announced as part of the 2021 General Practice Awards.

The award, which recognises a manager whose individual efforts and initiatives have improved their practice’s performance during the pandemic, will be presented in December.

The practice managers shortlisted for the award this year are:

  • Kirsty White
  • Suzanne Clitheroe
  • Tracey Osbourne
  • Stephanie Tedstone
  • Caroline Rawcliffe
  • Zeaul Karim.

The awards organisers said that nominations were received from across the full scope of general practice whilst facing the challenges associated with the pandemic.

‘We were in awe of all the inspiring work being carried out, despite the immense strain the healthcare sector was put under,’ said Jessica Cornish, Cogora’s events marketing manager.

‘Our expert judges completed their scoring, with many categories proving a tough deliberation. The quality of the entries this year was incredibly high.’

2021 marks the 13th annual General Practice Awards, organised

 by Management in Practice’s publisher, Cogora.

In 2020, practice managers Charlotte Luck and Emily Spalding – of The Meads Medical Centre in East Sussex, and The Swan Surgery in Hampshire respectively – were jointly awarded Practice Manager of the Year.

Ms Spalding’s practice became a Wave One vaccination site during the pandemic, working with eight other local surgeries to vaccinate their patient population.Also announced was the shortlist for the receptionist or reception team of the year, including:

  • Heron Medical Practice Reception Team
  • Rose Medical Practice Admin Team
  • Esher Green Surgery Reception/Admin Team
  • Jill Nicholls
  • St Stephens Gate Reception Team
  • Mary Lord and the reception team at Sea Mills Surgery
  • Three Villages Medical Practice Reception and Admin team.
