A complaint about a male nurse led to three female nurses being intimidated at work, they have told an employment tribunal in Manchester.
Jenny Fecitt, Annie Woodcock and Felicity Hughes have cited 46 examples of alleged victimisation at the walk-in centre in Wythenshawe.
They claim that after they blew whistle on a male nurse over his qualifications and work experience, they were bullied when he was allowed to continue working.
Mrs Fecitt told Sky News that her daughter was told over the phone that “if I didn’t stop I would have my house burned down. I burst into tears. I took it very seriously. I felt helpless.”
The tribunal heard that after Manchester Primary Care Trust finally suspended the male nurse, it employed a professor to look into the matter, who upheld Mrs Fecitt’s concerns.
The hearing was adjourned until Tuesday morning, when the first witnesses are expected to give evidence.
