Digital dictation technology is to be used in three more NHS Trusts in a bid to ease management burdens, it has been revealed.

The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, the Airedale NHS Trust and the Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have agreed to use the the technology from BigHand, which will benefit approximately 2,000 users.

It is believed hospital staff should have more time to focus on their clinical requirements because the technology is designed to remove costly and time consuming document administrative duties.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, and The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust have already invested in the technology.
