The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has published a call for evidence on the issue of low-skilled work migration.

Once collected, the information will help the MAC to assess the growth of migrant labour.

It will also be used, where possible, to distinguish between European Economic Area (EEA) migrants and those from outside the EEA.

NHS Employers has pointed out that employers cannot seek to employ individuals form overseas to work in Band 1-4 posts. But people already within the EEA, dependents or family of those already on a Tier 2 visa can be hired.

NHS Employers is collecting responses. For more information on how to respond, visit their website.
