A Primary Care Network (PCN) in Lancashire has been crowned PCN of the Year at an event honouring excellence in primary care.

Healthier Fleetwood Neighbourhood, also known as Fleetwood Primary Care Network, won the award against stiff competition at Friday’s 11th annual GP Awards GP Awards at a glitzy ceremony held at the Park Plaza Westminster hotel in London.

The GP Awards – held each year by Management in Practice’s parent company Cogora – shines a light on the remarkable work carried out by Britain’s primary care professionals every day.

The network impressed the judges due to its impressive track record of integration between healthcare professionals as well as local authorities and significant reduction of hospital visits.

The other finalists for the category were:

  • Chorley Central Primary Care Network
  • Darwen PCN
  • Eden Integrated Care Community
  • MEEBBB Health CIC (Network 6)
  • St Austell Healthcare, Cornwall
