From January 2020 Microsoft won’t provide security updates for devices running on Windows 7. Mobile working solutions could be the alternative way of working you need.

After 14 January 2020, Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates or support for Windows 7 devices. Once the support and updates from Microsoft end, failing to upgrade your systems could leave you vulnerable to security breaches such as malware and ransomware attacks. Plus, with the increased need to be able to visit patients outside of the practice and work remotely, there’s never been a better time to replace your desktop device with a modernised, mobile way of working.

Access everything you need, wherever you need it

Egton’s Anywhere Consult devices provide an all-in-one solution that gives you the ability to do everything you need to on a single device in any location. As an all-in-one device, Anywhere Consult allows you to work as you would on a desktop or laptop so you can carry out consultations in the practice or at an external location with the same high-quality care.

In fact, Anywhere Consult is already helping clinicians in Worcestershire CCG improve their mobile working processes and provide a better quality of care to patients outside of the practice. Soft-phone capabilities also make it easier for clinicians to provide telephone consultations with their patients whatever location they’re in, helping to significantly improve care continuity.

Using the Anywhere Consult devices, clinicians across the CCG are able to provide bedside care and deal with poor Wi-Fi. The Anywhere Consult devices work off both Wi-Fi and data connections provided through our connectivity package, so clinicians can be confident in maintaining a connection to their clinical system wherever they are.

Supporting patients across multiple locations

With 69% of UK GPs reporting that they don’t have the technology to meet mobile working demands, there’s never been a better time to invest in improving your mobile working practices. Since they started using their Anywhere Consult devices, 11 clinicians from Sunlight Group Practice have been able to improve the level of care they’re able to provide outside of the practice. The team support the care of 7,200 patients across four locations, so having a way to access, update and share patient’s records from any location was crucial.

With Anywhere Consult, the team carry out domestic home visits and attend sessions at four locations, while delivering the same high-quality care they would in a standard practice consultation. They’re able to access vital patient information at the point of care, so that they can make safer and more informed decisions.
