Addressing one of the most important challenges facing primary care today – redesigning access – will be one of the key sessions at the Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference taking place next month.

The event, held in Birmingham on June 21 and 22, delivered in partnership between Management in Practice and the National Pharmacy Association, is set to explore how closer GP and pharmacy working can deliver real-world improvements.

Practice manager at Merepark Medical Centre Denise Smith will be speaking alongside Emad Mahmoud, clinical pharmacist also at Merepark Medical Centre, about total triage, patient navigation, and ‘what the future “front door” of primary care needs to look like to meet growing demand.’

Ms Smith said: ‘I’ve seen how innovation, collaboration, and a willingness to share best practice can transform the way services are delivered.’

Across two days, the conference will welcome more than 1,000 attendees, including practice managers, GPs, community pharmacists, PCN and practice-based pharmacists, ICB leaders and other primary care professionals. The programme is built around practical collaboration in action, showcasing how integrated working can be strengthened across primary care systems.

You can join Denise Smith and Emad Mahmoud at their session Redesigning Access: Total Triage, patient navigation and the future front door of the NHS on Monday June 22.

The Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference is free to attend, whether for a single day or the full two-day programme and is CPD-accredited.
