Guidance has been launched on the Access to Work scheme which offers money to employers to support disabled people in their job.

Access to Work, a specialist disability service run by Jobcentre Plus, can help employers support employees with mental health conditions, retain employees who develop long-term conditions and promote good employment policies.

For example, the grant can provide funds towards specialist aids and equipment, travel to work or mental health support services.

The scheme could pay for 100% of the costs for people who have been working for less than six weeks when they apply, or for communication support at interviews.

More information is available on the Department for Work and Pensions website.
