The CQC has announced it will be speaking at all of the Management in Practice face to face events in 2026 to update primary care leaders on its new draft assessment framework.
Its directors will be delivering keynote sessions at the conferences in Bristol on 19 May, Manchester on 2 June, Birmingham on 9 June, Newcastle on 16 September, London on 22 September and Sheffield on 18 November.
Practice managers, PCN managers and GP partners will hear about the key changes to the CQC’s assessment framework for primary care and community services, published earlier this month, and which is currently out to consultation until June 12.
The amendments have been made as part of the watchdog’s promise to move away from its single assessment framework, after concerns were raised about the regulation system.
The CQC sessions will cover what the changes mean for practices; provide insights into what the priorities are for inspectors and what outstanding practice looks like; explore common challenges faced by providers; and share practical tools that can help drive improvement.
Last month, the CQC also unveiled a new assessment programme targeting GP practices that are considered ‘low risk’ but haven’t had an inspection for some time.
