Analysis of the GP contract for 2024/25 will form the closing keynote speech at this year’s Management in Practice event in Birmingham.

Practice managers and GP partners will be able to hear from medical accountants James Gransby and Jim Duggan who are both from the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA).

Financial pressures and the cost of living will be important themes during the opening keynote session too.

Attendees can find out how to save money, source new revenue streams and support staff and patients during the current squeeze on income and period of high inflation in a session led by Alyson McGregor at Altogether Better, which is an NHS national network organisation that supports a collaborative care model.

The Birmingham conference on 14 May is a three-stream agenda designed to support primary care managers and teams tackle staffing issues and navigate current challenges and demands.

Highlights include sessions on:

  • the importance of running your practice as a business by looking to maximise profit, reduce billing errors and boost income from reimbursements
  • reducing staff turnover
  • HR updates, including a session on practice manager pay and pay rises
  • how to make sense of digital technologies in your practice and identify opportunities arising from it
  • ways to improve immunisation uptake.

Management in Practice Events are free to attend and offer networking opportunities as well as equip delegates with vital ideas and knowledge about running their practices more effectively.
