The General Practice Awards 2026 are now open – with practice managers, GPs, receptionists, practice teams and PCNs invited to nominate themselves or colleagues.
The awards – organised by Pulse’s publisher Cogora – are a celebration of excellence, innovation and leadership in primary care across the UK, recognising achievements across a wide range of categories covering clinical care, management, practice initiatives and teamwork.
The deadline for entries is 31 May. Those wishing to enter can find more information and submit their nominations at the General Practice Awards website.
Last year, Caitlin Clarke scooped the highly coveted Practice Manager of the Year Award – the second time she has won.
Ms Clarke, who is business Manager at the Castle Partnership, Norwich as well as managing partner at Fleggburgh Surgery, Great Yarmouth beat off competition from five other finalists and was described as an ‘exceptional business manager’. Her leadership helped the Castle Partnership significantly improve patient access and boost staff morale and retention.
Meanwhile, last year Maxine Paget was recognised for her efforts reducing the phone queue time at her practice from 8.5 minutes to 2.38 minutes and increasing positive patient feedback, when she won the Receptionist of the Year Award.
The General Practice Awards include a wide range of categories recognising expertise across the whole of general practice, including Practice Manager of the Year, GP of the Year, Nurse/Nursing Team of the Year, General Practice Team of the Year, Receptionist/Reception Team of the Year, PCN of the Year, Digital Innovation, and Workforce Wellbeing.
Suppliers also have the chance to be recognised for the vital role they play in supporting general practice. Categories covering areas such as AI-powered solutions, legal services, and premises and infrastructure will highlight the organisations helping practices respond to change, improve efficiency and deliver better care.
