An analysis tool which links staff surveys to patient experience has been developed for NHS Employers.

The free tool allows organisations to see the links between the staff survey and patient data though entering information in an Excel spreadsheet.

The focus is a comparison at organisational employer level, according to NHS Employers.

Using the tool it is possible to break down the data to directorate level. It can be used as a diagnostic tool to identify areas for action.

An NHS Employers statement said: “It should be combined with data from other sources e.g. the Friends and Family Test, other forms of staff and patient feedback, complaints and softer intelligence.”

Matthew Watt from Health Education Yorkshire & the Humber developed the tool, which is available to view on the NHS Employers website
