For the first time ever, Management in Practice has compiled a list of the 25 most inspiring practice managers in the industry.  At a time when general practice is under pressure, it seems vital to highlight the people who keep the show on the road.

The MiP List is a much-needed reminder of the amazing work practice managers are doing despite the daily challenges in primary care and the wider NHS. We delved behind the scenes to uncover the people who are going the extra mile, as nominated by their colleagues.

You’ll recognise some of the faces – people who already have an established reputation in the world of practice management. But this is no ‘parade of usual suspects’, and we’re delighted to highlight some very capable rising stars who are already making their mark, despite being relative newcomers.

Indeed, the top spot goes to a practice manager who has been in the post for just three years. But within that time, she has encouraged change and established many new initiatives. She says she came into practice management with a desire to make a difference and we certainly feel her enthusiasm for general practice speaks volumes.

With this awards list, we hope to celebrate the vital role that practice managers play as they tackle the daily challenges in primary care from patients, GPs, the NHS and a growing workload. We salute their enthusiasm, optimism and passion for their role and are proud to help it achieve wider recognition.
