A new group designed to end revalidation confusion among GPs has been established, it is claimed.
Leading the creation of the group, the British Medical Association’s GP Committee (GPC) has joined forces with the Royal College of GPs (RCGP), Revalidation Support Team, NHS Confederation, DH and the General Medical Council (GMC).
Dr Richard Vautrey said while the group has been established, it is yet to hold its first meeting or have any meaningful discussions.
“There is so much variation in how GPs are preparing for revalidation, we need clarity and that is why we have set up this group,” he said.
However, while the GMC confirmed it has been approached by the BMA’s GPC to establish such a group, a spokesperson said “no decisions have been taken yet”.
