A new £30m broadband project has been revealed to ensure North Yorkshire businesses do not get left behind in the digital age.
Connecting North Yorkshire, from NYnet, could help some 12,000 businesses to get on the next generation broadband highway.
Andy Lister, NYnet sales and marketing director, said faster broadband would give businesses better access to a wider range of markets, reduce business IT costs and develop new products and skills.
He said: “All the evidence shows that those areas that get access to broadband prosper economically.
“We need the digital economy to grow as this is where companies in Britain can benefit in a whole variety of ways. It is not just technology business that can benefit, any business can take advantage of the new range of new technologies and new ways of doing things.”
