Health and social care staff in Scotland can now access an online database containing 11 million resources to help with patient care, clinical practice and research.
The NHS Knowledge Network, launched at the annual NHS Scotland conference, aims to give staff better access to information and builds on a previous “e-library”.
Its search engine can draw from 100 organisations within in the health service, voluntary sector and local government, to find the information users need to carry out their jobs.
Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, said: “We know that a skilled, motivated and committed workforce, with access to the right knowledge, tools and materials is a key component to delivering the highest quality healthcare for the people of Scotland.
“That is why today’s announcements on the Knowledge Network is to be welcomed, not only will it save staff time, it will allow them to access a wealth of information which for the first time will be available online in the same place.”
