A new campaign has been launched in Scotland in a bid to make people take more exercise.
The Active Nation campaign aims to use the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games to motivate people to exercise for 30 minutes a day five days a week.
The scheme was launched in Glasgow by 50 dancers who were signed-up to demonstrate an alternative to the rowing machine or treadmill.
Public Health Minister Shona Robison urged people to get active, saying that even small changes can make a difference to a person’s fitness levels.
Ms Robison said the campaign would add to the Scottish Government’s recent efforts to get to grips with alcohol abuse, reduce smoking and encourage healthy eating.
She said: “This, together with our recently launched obesity strategy and our radical plans to tackle alcohol misuse, further reduce smoking levels and encourage healthy diet, demonstrates our determination to get to grips with these most pressing of issues.”
