Mike Bainbridge, NHS Connecting for Health’s clinical architect was named “Healthcare ICT Champion of the Year” this week at the BT E-Health Insider Awards held in London.
The award recognises the achievements of an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to promoting healthcare ICT in the past year.
A qualified GP, has been an enthusiastic and effective champion of received 302 out of the 1025 votes cast online by E-Health Insider readers.GP computing in the UK and abroad since the mid 1980s and has chaired the BCS Primary Healthcare Group.
He helped develop the “Read codes” and designed two major GP systems. He also specified and designed, in partnership with Intel, the new health specific category of computers, the Mobile Clinical Assistant, bringing the electronic health record to all mobile health workers.
