The esteemed writer and broadcaster Roy Lilley will be one of the many guest speakers addressing practice managers at September’s Management in Practice Event in London.

Twice voted speaker of the year, and a former Visiting Fellow at the Management School, Imperial College London, Mr Lilley is also a  consultant to NHS organisations and companies that provide services and products for the health service.

Mr Lilley will talk on “people management” at the Event, focusing on the seven types of “difficult” people to work with, how to cope with lazy and bullying colleagues, as well as handling conflicts and complaints.

Mr Lilley was a founder member of the NHS Trust Federation and held the positions of Chairman of the Supplies and Purchasing Standing Committee and Chairmanship of the Standing Committee on HR Issues.

He has been a member of the NHS Steering Group on women’s issues and a member of the NHS Training Executive’s group on training boards and non-executive directors.

The event, at the London Business Design Centre in Islington, provides a forum for practice managers and associated healthcare professionals to meet, take part in workshops and discuss professional issues with leaders, innovators and fellow colleagues.

Taking place on 5 September, the event is supported by AMSPAR and the RCGP, and is recognised by the IHM.
